Assault purpose is to have 2 teams on a map, Red team and Blue team; Red team always attacks first and blue has to defend objectives, preventing Red from reaching and completing them whichever Red team managed to complete all objectives or the time ran out the roles will be switched in the next round where Blue team will attack and Red team will defend the same objectives it attacked in the first round.
Its common for the defenders to begin close to the objective that needs to be defended while the attackers are usually somewhat away and have to move in and work together as team to take said objective, after one objective is completed another objective is activated and so on until all objectives are completed; in the end the team that completed the objectives in the best way possible will win. Assault is only 2 rounds.
Strategies:
- Gold Rule: Win of lose, have fun, after all its a game!
- Keep moving, always move towards the objective and do your best to atack it or defend it, more team mates work better than being alone.
- Do not use vehicles alone, if you can carry people do so, the more you carry means more firepower when you reach an objective.
- If an objective is completed you can press your action key (usually letter "E" or "Q") to instantly teleport to the new spawn point for a new objective, but if you miss this you can suicide, sometimes its faster.
- Camping is not bad in assault, because its what you need to do most, but "spawn camping" in your enemy base is extremely frustrating and cowardly, do not do that (seriously, takes the fun off the game).
- Try to master the dodge (tap twice any direction key) or jump-dogde (tap twice a direction key then press jump to move further away and faster) because on assault maps you'll be avoiding lots of ammo directed at you.
- Use the guns you are best at but try to use your guns to counter the opposing team guns.
- Do not expect to not be killed a few times, no one survives an assault match without being killed at least several times.
- Learn the map, you can get a lot of advantage by knowing where to go each time.
- If you get lost in large maps follow your HUD display, if you feel completely lost, suicide and start from the spawn point.
